Hi, I'm Ed. Lead Product Designer in Dubai.

I design apps and websites people use every day, with a speciality in motion and illustration. Most recently at Property Finder and talabat.

talabat

talabat

The region's leading app for food, grocery and everyday deliveries. For three and a half years I led UI, motion and illustration in talabat's central design team, where the job was to make ordering smoother and more fun.

Where it started

The first stretch of work was in talabat's original brand style: hero illustrations and spot icons, drawn as one library, with motion and micro-interactions to bring them to life.

They made navigation clearer and lifted engagement across many flows in the app.

The 2025 rebrand

At the start of 2025 talabat launched its new brand, a huge effort across disciplines and stakeholders. I'd led the first rebrand concept and presented it to the CEO and executive team. On the product side it meant redrawing every graphic so the new identity carried through into the app.

Motion with a new mindset

Bringing motion into the rebrand needed a fresh look at how talabat should feel to use. It changed how the app responds to people as much as how it looks.

For the post-order experience I designed micro-interactions that guide people through tracking, status updates and confirmations.

Realistic icons for every vertical

The entry points to food, groceries, health and beauty, stores and coffee got realistic icons, made by combining AI generation, editing and illustration into one consistent, high-quality style.

The same style carried into rewards, referrals and benefits.

Empty states that help

When there's nothing to show yet, illustrated empty states explain what's going on and what to do next.
